South Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Monday Semaya Kumba, received Norway’s Minister of International Development, Asmund Aukrust, in Juba on Monday, as both countries reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations.

During the meeting, Minister Kumba briefed his guest on South Sudan’s current political landscape, including preparations for the upcoming elections. He expressed appreciation for Norway’s continued support across various sectors, emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue and partnership.

“The Government of South Sudan values Norway’s unwavering support and partnership in promoting peace, development, and stability in our country,” Kumba said.

Minister Aukrust, visiting South Sudan once again, commended the ongoing dialogue among South Sudanese leaders and praised humanitarian and development efforts in the country. He reiterated Norway’s commitment to supporting South Sudan in its path toward peace and sustainable development.

The discussions also covered key areas of cooperation and issues of mutual interest, with both sides agreeing on the importance of continued engagement. During his visit, the Norwegian minister is expected to meet other senior government officials.
